Dissolved Methane in Coastal Waters of the Northeastern Black Sea

چکیده
As the largest methane reservoir in world, Black Sea is characterized by significant variability its dissolved distribution patterns. Aerobic waters coastal regions are influenced various factors governing biogeochemical processes water column; however, their impact on pattern of not always well studied, especially shallow areas northeastern Sea, which have hitherto been thoroughly covered observations. Here, we consider measurements content several carried out from 2013–2017 with large and detailed spatial coverage order to identify key determining each region study area. The CH4 Sochi dominated river flow. increased saturation surface southeastern Crimean shelf (up 40 nM) caused influence Azov outflow. Feodosia Bay south it mainly an increase towards bottom 100 nM), associated water–sediment interactions gas emission bottom.

Net removal of dissolved organic carbon in the anoxic waters of the Black Sea
Article history: Received 5 August 2015 Received in revised form 14 March 2016 Accepted 9 May 2016 Available online 10 May 2016 Dissolved organic carbon (DOC) concentrations in the deep Black Sea are ~2.5 times higher than found in the global ocean. The twomajor external sources of DOC are rivers and the Sea ofMarmara, a transit point forwaters from the Mediterranean Sea. In addition, expansive...
متن کاملFe-Binding Dissolved Organic Ligands in the Oxic and Suboxic Waters of the Black Sea
In the oxygen-rich layer of the Black Sea, above the permanent halocline, the Fe and nitrate concentrations are low where fluorescence is relatively high, indicating uptake by phytoplankton. In this study we used ligand exchange adsorptive cathodic stripping voltammetry (CLE-aCSV), using 2-(2-Thiazolylazo)-p-cresol (TAC) as measuring ligand, to investigate the role of Fe-binding dissolved organ...
متن کاملSeasonal Variations of Seawater Properties in the Southwestern Coastal Waters of the Caspian Sea
Seasonal variations of the seawater properties (e.g. temperature, salinity, density and chlorophyll-a) in western part of the southern coastal waters of the Caspian Sea near the Iranian coast were studied. A portable CTD probe was applied for profiling from sea surface to bottom at 23 stations. Maximum depth of the profiling stations was more than 470 m in the study area. Vertical structure of ...
متن کاملthe effect of taftan pozzolan on the compressive strength of concrete in the environmental conditions of oman sea (chabahar port)
cement is an essential ingredient in the concrete buildings. for production of cement considerable amount of fossil fuel and electrical energy is consumed. on the other hand for generating one tone of portland cement, nearly one ton of carbon dioxide is released. it shows that 7 percent of the total released carbon dioxide in the world relates to the cement industry. considering ecological issu...
Temperature, Salinity and Density Measurements in the Coastal Waters of the Rudsar, South Caspian Sea
CTD (conductivity, temperature and depth) data collected in the coastal waters of Rudsar in summer 2008 were analyzed to identify the isothermal layers, thermocline depth and vertical structure of seawater properties. During the survey, probe was released into the seawater column down to 117 m depth. Results showed a vertical variation of temperature between 29°C at the sea surface and less tha...
